Oak Mountain State Park For Mountain Biking

The MOST popular mountain bike trail in Alabama.

Located 15 miles south of Birmingham near Pelham, the 9,940 acre Oak Mountain State Park has 13 mountain bike trails totaling 30 miles. The 17 mile Red Trail has ten miles of singletrack through pine-studded, magnolia-covered ridges and lush green valleys. The trail has some sharp switchbacks and killer technical sections. Also, check out the Yellow Trail.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Birmingham, head south on US65 to Exit 246. Follow SR119 into the state park. The trailhead parking is off the first paved road on the right.

Overall, Oak Mountain State Park is the 1st most popular mountain bike trail of all 10 mountain biking rides in Alabama.
