Located just north of the heart of the city, the 11 mile one-way Phoenix Mountain 100 Trail is a singletrack cuts across this mountain preserve. A good side loop is the Perl Charles Trail (#1A).

To reach the Phoenix Mountain Preserve mountain biking trailhead from Phoenix, head north on SR51 (Squaw Peak Parkway) to exit #7 (Northern Ave.). Proceed east into the Dreamy Draw Recreation Area parking lot.
