In the Prescott National Forest, this 7.4 mile one-way trail (#264) extends from FS43 off Iron Springs Road southwest to FS53 near SR89. Themountain bike route offers excellent vistas of northern Arizona from Skull Valley on west to Mingus Mountain on the east. It passes through the Sierra Prieta range which was heavily mined and can provide much exploring. The trail crosses over both West Spruce Mountain and Sugarloaf Mountain.

Overall, West Spruce Trail is the 33rd most popular mountain bike trail of all 103 mountain biking rides in Arizona. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby West Spruce Trail including Bradshaw Mountains, Granite Mountain / Granite Basin, Mingus Mountain Loop, Mount Union / Yankee Doodle Trail, Thumb Butte and Groom Creek Trail.
