In the Tonto National Forest, this 10 mile mountain bike route decends 2000 feet vertically along FS209 and FS209A across the East Verde River to FS406. The scenery varies from grasslands to pinon pine and riparian habitat.

Overall, White Hills Route is the 60th most popular mountain bike trail of all 103 mountain biking rides in Arizona.
