Near Greenbrae in the Samuel Taylor State Park, the Barnabe Fire Road (aka Ridge Trail) climbs 1,400 feet over 3.6 miles to the summit of Barnabe Peak.

To reach the Samuel Taylor State Park trailhead from Greenbrae, head west on Sir Francis Drake Highway for 16 miles into Samuel Taylor State Park and park at the main entrance.

Note: mountain biking is allowed only on the fire roads and on the 3 mile paved Cross Marin Paved Trail.

Tip - After a long mountain bike ride at Samuel Taylor State Park, make sure to head over to the Gestalt Haus in Fairfax for a cold drink!
