Near Tahoe City, Paige Meadows is a series of interconnecting trails of various types. Some trails are on the map, some are not. Jeep roads are really wide singletrack, probably too narrow for a jeep. Single track is primo, NoCal type: firmpack and a few rocks, not a lot of loose gravel/shale or big obstacles. Most of it is easy to moderate, although one track just north of Chamonix (not on the map) appears to climb steeply up to Scott Peak. Main Jeep trail definitely bombable with big jumps, stable hardpack.
To reach mountain biking at the trailhead, start at US 89 Y in Tahoe City, go south on West Lake Blvd about 2 miles, go West on Pineland to Ward Canyon Road (also called Courcheval). Take right on Chamonix. Park at end of street in cul-de-sac.
Overall, Paige Meadows is the 44th most popular mountain bike trail of all 132 mountain biking rides in California.
