South of Dillion, a 14 mile out & back jeep road passes remains of many impressive mines before ending in a scenic high alpine cirque above the treeline at 12,000. To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Dillion, head south on US6 through Keystone. Turn right heading southeast on Montezuma Road for 4.5 miles. Once across the Snake River, turn left into Peru Creek parking area. Ride northeast up Peru Creek Road crossing Peru Creek and climbing through valleys, meadows and pristine alpine ponds. There are many side singletrack trails to explore.

Overall, Peru Creek is the 47th most popular mountain bike trail of all 178 mountain biking rides in Colorado. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Peru Creek including Colorado Trail - Searle / Kokomo Pass, Colorado Trail - Swan River Valley, Mayflower Gulch, Miners Creek Trail, Montezuma Loop Trail and Tiger RoadWilliams Peak.
