The Colorado Trail runs 500 miles from the Chatfield Reservoir near Denver to Durango traversing seven National Forests and criss-crosses the Continental Divide a dozen times. It is an epic mountain bike ride that has an annual point to point race.
There are several popular sections to explore including Waterton Canyon, above Breckenridge, Monarch Crest and Molas Pass. The Colorado Trail crosses several major state highways and there are usually trailhead parking facilities at each intersection.
