Head north from the parking area, past Lynx Pass Campground and Guard Station. Turn left to the beginning of #1174. The trail climbs for about 7 miles to the top of Green Ridge. The trail will intersect with a series of roads. Follow signs for trail #1174. In another mile and you will come to the Muddy Slide, an interesting geological formation. Once on top, this trail provides beautiful views of the Morrison Creek valley, Rabbit Ears Pass and Steamboat Ski area to the north. Continue following trail #1174 down a fairly steep stretch to Muddy Creek.
