Colorado Trail - Salida For Mountain Biking

The 20th most popular mountain bike trail in Colorado.

West of Salida and Buena Vista, a great section of the Colorado Trail for mountain biking runs 20 miles from CR240 north towards SR306. Starting near NFS Angel-of-Shavano CG, the CT climbs north on singletrack and eventually crests before dropping in near Rasberry Gulch (8 mi.). Over the next several miles through Ponderosa pine and scrub oak, the CT drops 1000 feet to the Chalk Creek and eventually passes the Mt. Princeton Hot Springs on CR162. The trail heads north on CR322 before becoming singletrack again on the seven mile stretch to SR306.

Overall, Colorado Trail - Salida is the 20th most popular mountain bike trail of all 176 mountain biking rides in Colorado.
