West of Telluride, the Illium Trail (#499) follows the old Galloping Goose railway into the Illium Valley. There are great views of 13,000 feet peaks along this nice singletrack. A variety of loops can be formed coming down the ski mountain with this as the final leg.

Overall, Illium Trail is the 86th most popular mountain bike trail of all 178 mountain biking rides in Colorado.
