Carters Lake For Mountain Biking

The 7th most popular mountain bike trail in Georgia.

Located southwest of Ellijay off SR76, an all singletrack mountain bike loop (5.6 mi.) rolls the ridges around Carters Lake Ridgeway Recreation Area. Riders pass through mountain vegetation along high ridges that overlook deep clear water, then descend to cross small creeks. Trail features include a mixture of singletrack and narrow logging roads along with challenging climbs, stream crossings and technical downhills. Orange trail marker posts are easy to follow with arrows pointing the direction along the entire loop.

Overall, Carters Lake is the 7th most popular mountain bike trail of all 20 mountain biking rides in Georgia.
