Mountaintown Creek For Mountain Biking

The 10th most popular mountain bike trail in Georgia.

Situated northwest of Ellijay in the Chattahoochee Forest, a 20 mile mountain biking excursion to the remotest section of forest can be formed by combining the Mountaintown Creek Trail with FS68 and FS64 (which borders the Cohutta Wilderness). The MCT runs down a gorge with many cascades and waterfalls. To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Ellijay, head west on SR52 to milepost 8 and proceed northwest on CR65 (a.k.a. FS90). At FS68, go north for 2 miles to parking area just past Barnes Creek Falls.

Overall, Mountaintown Creek is the 10th most popular mountain bike trail of all 20 mountain biking rides in Georgia.
