Anderson Butte / Boundary Trail For Mountain Biking

The 45th most popular mountain bike trail in Idaho.

East of Elk City in the Nez Perce National Forest, the 15 mile Anderson Butte National Recreation Trail follows a 9 miles section of the Boundary Trail (#835) in the Clearwater Mountains. The ABT is part of a greatermountain bike route that stretches to the Selway River via FS443 and to the Magruder Corridor (FS 468) via Trail #505 from Anderson Butte. Plan to see more wildlife than anywhere else in the nation, including mountian lion, moose, black bear, elk and an occasional otter on the Selway River.

The trailhead near Elk City is off Flatiron Ridge Road (FS1809) northeast of town.

Overall, Anderson Butte / Boundary Trail is the 45th most popular mountain bike trail of all 63 mountain biking rides in Idaho.
