Northeast of Wichita near Madison, this unmarked, one-time stagecoachmountain bike route (70 mi. / 5000) is a killer mix of steep rises, raking winds, eerie ghost towns, and wandering cattle. Lined by wildflowers, the trail passes through the last great tallgrass praire. The loop runs from Madison High School west through Mattfield Green and back to Madison.

Overall, Flint Hills Death Ride is the 1st most popular mountain bike trail of all 10 mountain biking rides in Kansas. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Flint Hills Death Ride including Elk City State Park, Horsethief Canyon, El Dorado State Park and Coronado Heights.
