Clear Creek Trail For Mountain Biking

The 2nd most popular mountain bike trail in Kentucky.

Near Salt Lick in Rowan County, the Clear Creek Trail is a 6 mile singletrack loop connecting up with the Sheltoee Trace Trail. After a nice climb the CCT runs a ridgeline before dropping back down to a road leading back to the parking area. To reach the mountain biking trailhead from US64, exit at Salt Lick / Cave Run Lick. Follow the signs towards Cave Run Lake. Head south on SR36 to Pioneer Weapons / Clear Creek. Turn left to the Pioneer Weapons area and after 1.5 miles the Clear Creek Trailhead parking area is on the right.

Another area to check out is the Caney Loop Trail near the dam off SR 826.

Overall, Clear Creek Trail is the 2nd most popular mountain bike trail of all 15 mountain biking rides in Kentucky.
