Northeast of Baton Rouge and east of Scotlandville, the Hooper Road Bike Trail is an easy 3 mile trail with some challenges, especially the muddy section after heavy rains. This loop trail winds through verdant woods and the bluffs along Cypress Bayou. This is one of the best mountain biking areas near Baton Rouge.
To reach the trailhead from Baton Rouge, head north on US110 to Exit 6 for SR408 (Harding Road). Head east on SR408 (Harding Road) for 2 miles (across SR67, SR408 becomes Hooper Road). At Cedar Glen in Sharon Hills, turn left. At the end of Cedar Glen, turn right onto Guynell for two blocks to the entrance to Hooper Road Park. The trailhead parking area is on the left.
Overall, Hooper Road Park is the 3rd most popular mountain bike trail of all 9 mountain biking rides in Louisiana.
