West of Alexandria near Boyce in the Kisatchie National Forest, the Kincaid Lakeshore Trail is considered to be the most scenic and difficult mountain biking trail in the KNF. It winds for 10 miles along the eastern shore of Kincaid Lake through oak, hikory and beech forests.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Alexandria, head west on SR28 for 10 miles. Turn left heading south on Messina Road for 2 miles. Turn right heading west on East Boat Landing Road. The primary trailhead is located at the eastern boat ramp.

Overall, Lakeshore Trail is the 5th most popular mountain bike trail of all 9 mountain biking rides in Louisiana. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Lakeshore Trail including Wild Azalea Trail, Claiborne Trail and Dorman Trail.
