Located in northcentral Maine near Millinocket, the 200,000 acre Baxter State Park is a rugged and remote section of Maine. The only mountain biking permitted in the park is on the Perimeter Road (dirt). To reach the trailhead, follow US95 north to Exit 58. Continue north on SR11 into Patten. Turn left on SR159 heading west into the park.

Overall, Baxter State Park is the 2nd most popular mountain bike trail of all 9 mountain biking rides in Maine.
