Southwest of Munising, the Valley Spur is a 26 mile long trail through northern hardwood forest, meadow, hemlock groves and old white pine. The VSMBR consists of four brown-and-white blazed loops ranging from 3 to 12 miles each.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Munising, follow SR94 southwest for six miles. Park at the Valley Spur Day Lodge. The Coalwood ATV trail is in the region.
