Hungerford Lake For Mountain Biking
The 17th most popular mountain bike trail in Michigan.

North of Grand Rapids and west of Big Rapids in Newyago County, the Hungerford Lake Recreation Area has a gently rolling 13 mile loop for mountain biking through big oak forest known as the Hungerford Trail.
To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Big Rapids, head west on SR20 for 8.5 miles. At Norwich Town Hall, turn north on Cypress Avenue for 0.5 miles. At the cemetary, turn east on Hungerford Lake Road for 0.5 miles. Turn north on FS5134 for 0.25 miles to the trailhead parking area.

Overall, Hungerford Lake is the 17th most popular mountain bike trail of all 37 mountain biking rides in Michigan. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Hungerford Lake including Huron-Manistee National Forest, Cadillac Pathway, Big M Mountain Bike Trail, North Country Trail - Marilla To Dilling, North Country Trail - Freesoil To Bowman Lake, Mackenzie Bike Trail and White Pine Trail.
