South of Red Wing in the Richard J Dorer Memorial Hardwood State Forest, the Hay Creek Trails consist of several interconnecting mountain biking loops totaling 17 miles. The trails can be rugged and steep and are very remote.

Driving Directions: From Red Wing, head south on State Route 58 for 6.7 miles, passing through the town of Hay Creek. Turn right onto Hay Creek Trail Road and travel 1.3 miles to the trailead.

Overall, Hay Creek Trail System is the 4th most popular mountain bike trail of all 31 mountain biking rides in Minnesota.
