Silver Trail For Mountain Biking

The 13th most popular mountain bike trail in Minnesota.

Northeast of Virginia and Biwabik in Superior National Forest, the 6.2 mile Silver Trail is a challenging summer mountain bike route located in the Giants Ridge Recreation Area. The Silver Trail is used for Olympic cross-country ski qualifications in the winter.

To reach the trailhead from Biwabik, head east on SR135 for 1.5 miles. Proceed north on CR138 for three miles into the GRRA on the left.

Overall, Silver Trail is the 13th most popular mountain bike trail of all 31 mountain biking rides in Minnesota. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Silver Trail including Arrowhead Trail, Bear Head Lake Trails, Laurentian Trail, McDougal Lake, Secret / Blackstone and Snowbank Lake / Old Pines TrailGiants Ridge Ski Area.
