Southwest of St. Louis and west of Potosi, the Berryman National Recreation Trail is a 24 mile technically challenging wooded mountain bike singletrack loop in the Ozarks. Many feel this is the best singletrack between the Rockies and Alleghenies. It snakes through 100 feet maples, clinges to ridgelines and passes above deep hollows. There are plenty of rocky, technical ascents.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from St. Louis, head south on US55 to US67. Head south on US67 to Desloge. Proceed west on SR8 through Potosi. About 16 miles west of Potosi, turn right heading north on CS207 for 1.2 miles to trail intersection.

Overall, Berryman Trail is the 1st most popular mountain bike trail of all 27 mountain biking rides in Missouri. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Berryman Trail including Cedar Creek / Pine Ridge Trail, Kaintuck Hollow Trail, Brushy Creek Trail, Ridge Runner Trail, Swan Creek Trail and Council Bluffs TrailAudubon Trail.
