Wharton State Forest For Mountain Biking

East of Wilmington near Hammonton, the 110,000 acre Wharton State Forest has over 500+ miles of trails and logging roads for bikers. The trails pass through pine forests with white sandy areas and several river crossings.

There is a proposed mountain bike loop starting from the Atsion Office. Contact the forest to see if it has opened yet.

Note: Mountain bikes are not permitted on any hiking trails, including the Batona Trail.

Overall, Wharton State Forest is the 1st most popular mountain bike trail of all 24 mountain biking rides in New Jersey.
