Spanish Peak For Mountain Biking

Near Prineville in the Ochoco National Forest, this is one of the most remote areas of the Forest. Drive 56 miles southeast of Prineville on County Road 380 to Paulina and continue another 11 miles to FS Road 42. Follow this road for 1 mile to FS Road 3810, turn north for about 8 miles to FS Road 38. Continue driving FS Road 38 east for about 7 miles to the junction with FS Road 3800-200. Park here and begin your scenic bike mountain bike ride. It is about 5.5 miles to the top of Spanish Peak. A loop mountain bike ride can be made by continuing on this road and following PS Road 385 south to FS Road 3820, then southeast back to FS Road 38.

Overall, Spanish Peak is the 52nd most popular mountain bike trail of all 56 mountain biking rides in Oregon. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Spanish Peak including Lookout Mountain Trail, Green Mountain Trail, Summit Trail, Cougar Creek Trail, Mt. Pisgah/Indian Praire Trail and Rock Creek TrailRound Mountain Trail.
