Southeast of Eugene and east of McCredie Springs in the Willamette National Forest, the Waldo Lake Trail (#3590) is a long challenging mountain bike ride that borders the Waldo Lake Wilderness Area. The trail is well marked.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Eugene, head south on US5 and then southeast on SR58. Proceed north on FS5897 (Waldo Lake Road) for 6.9 miles. Turn left on FS5896 to Shadow Bay. Park near boat ramp. The trailhead for the Waldo Lake Trail (#3590 / 22 mi.) is south of the parking area.

Overall, Waldo Lake Trail is the 8th most popular mountain bike trail of all 56 mountain biking rides in Oregon. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Waldo Lake Trail including Crater Trail Loop and North Umpqua River Trail.
