Northeast of Augusta and southeast of Modoc in the Sumter National Forest, the Horn Creek Trail (5.7 mi.) is a fast wide singletrack traveling through hardwood bottoms, across streams and along pine ridges.

To reach the mountain biking trailhead from Augusta, head north on US221 (SR28) to Modoc. In Modoc, turn right heading east on SR23. Cross over Modoc Bridge and turn right heading south on SR230. After 0.5 miles, turn left on CR263 (FS 634). Follow signs and park at entrance of Lick Fork Lake Recreation Area.

Overall, Horn Creek Trail is the 8th most popular mountain bike trail of all 16 mountain biking rides in South Carolina. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Horn Creek Trail including Buncombe Trail, Baker Creek State Park and Long Cane Horse Trail.
