Forest Ridge is a new park, with dramatic views and steep climbs for mountain biking, dedicated to the preservation of two endangered species, the golden-cheeked warbler and the black-capped vireo. Forest Ridges reputation for being so difficult has attracted a lot of daredevils. Enter near RM 2222 and Loop 360.
To reach the mountain biking trailhead at Forest Ridge from the intersection of US 183 and I-35 in Austin, go northwest on US 183 for 4.7 miles to the 360 loop. Go southwest on the 360 loop for 1.7 miles to Spicewood Springs Rd. Turn right (north) and go about 2.5 miles to a parking lot on the left.
Overall, Forest Ridge Park is the 7th most popular mountain bike trail of all 59 mountain biking rides in Texas. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Forest Ridge Park including Barton Creek Greenbelt, Emma Long Trail, Buescher State Park, Colorado Bend State Park, Pedernales Falls State Park, Rocky Hill Ranch and Good Water Trail.
