Southwest of Dallas near Glen Rose, the Dinosaur Valley State Park has 7 miles of trails open to mountain bikers. The singletrack trails meander through forests of Texas red oak, ash and mesquite, and wind over bluffs then past ancient river beds with unearthed dinosaur tracks. The challenge is accessing the trails which are on the other side of the Paluxry River from the parking area -- be ready to swim it!

To reach the trailhead from Dallas, follow US75 south to SR67 south. In Glen Rose, follow signs along SR 205 into park.

Overall, Dinosaur Valley State Park is the 10th most popular mountain bike trail of all 59 mountain biking rides in Texas. Several of the better mountain bike trails are nearby Dinosaur Valley State Park including DORBA Trail, LBJ National Grasslands, Lake Mineral Wells State Park, Rowlett Creek Trail, Northshore Trail and Tyler TrailBonham State Park.
