Northwest of Brattleboro in the Townshend State Park, the Rattlesnake Mountain Trail is a killer singletrack up Rattlesnake Mountain. It is an 1,100 foot ascent and a six mile roundtrip mountain bike ride.

The trail starts from Townshend State Park campground, which is across SR30 from Rattlesnake Mountain.

To reach the State Park from Brattleboro, head north on SR30 to Townshend. In Townshend, follow SR30 northwest towards West Townshend for 1.6 miles. Turn left over covered bridge to state park campground parking area. The trail begins back on the north side of SR30 and heads north up Rattlesnake Mountain.

Overall, Rattlesnake Mountain Trail is the 2nd most popular mountain bike trail of all 16 mountain biking rides in Vermont.
