North of Winthrop, the Methow Valley Trail Systems has numerous trails totally over 100 miles that are open to mountain biking. A great introduction ride is the 13.5 mile Buck Mountain Loop that combines Forest Service road and rolling singletrack with 1,300 feet of vertical climb. After that warmup, then check out the 27.5 mile Blackpine Lake Trail.
