The Flat Rock Plains Loop runs south from Dolly Sods Picnic Area on FS19 to South Prong Trail (#517). Then it heads south 3 miles to FS70. Turn south to Roaring Plains Trail #548 for 3.3 miles. Continue north on Flat Rock Run Trail for 5 miles. Finish by heading east on SR45 to FS19 back into Picnic Area. It is a rough and wild mountain bike loop.

Overall, Flat Rock Plains Loop is the 18th most popular mountain bike trail of all 32 mountain biking rides in West Virginia.
