East of Dallas and northeast of Gilmer, the TMTC / Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area has over 150 miles over 1,800 acres open to off-road motorcycle trails riding. This area was opened in 2000 by the Texas Motorized Trails Coalition (TMTC). The rolling routes pass through rugged, heavily-wooded areas on an old iron ore mine. The narrow, marked tracks wind through pine forest and climb narrow dirt gorges.
East of Dallas and southeast of Longview near Easton, the Alligator Run Park (aka Gator Run Park) has 5,200 acres of off-road motorcycle trails riding. Riding includes mud and dry trails, clay pits with hills and spring fed creeks.
Northeast of Dallas near Celeste, the Badlands Motocross Park has a motocross track and a peewee track. The Night Track includes a new rhythm section, elevation changes, numerous doubles, table-tops, a whoops section and triples.
East of Dallas near Canton, the Buffalo Creek Motocross has a 2 mile motocross track on a sandy, loamy clay surface. Also, there is a supercross track and a peewee track.
Southeast of Dallas near Jacksonville, the 2000 acre River Run ATV Park has a variety of riding opportunities for ATVs and dirt bikes. There are dry and muddy trails crossing hills and the Neches River.
South of Dallas near Wortham, the Freestone County Raceway has a 1 mile, national-style motocross track. It has table-tops, stepdown and a 90 foot triple step up.
