Northwest of Kingman in the Black Mountains, the Portland Mine Road is a 31.8 mile route open to off-road motorcycle trails riding. The trail runs along a sandy wash and then down into a shallow canyon.

Overall, Portland Mine Road is the 31st most popular dirt bike trail of all 44 dirt biking rides in Arizona. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Portland Mine Road including Packsaddle Mountain ORV Loop, Thumb Butte ORV Trail and White Hills ORV Trail.
