Northwest of Prescott near Granite Mountain, the Tonto Wash Trail is a 16 mile route open to off-road motorcycle trails riding.
This trail runs for about 8 miles one-way between the intersection of Iron Springs Rd and FR 102 (Tonto Rd) in the south and Williamson Valley Road/Simmons Hwy and FR 85 (Fair Oaks Rd.) in the north. To get to the southern trailhead from Prescott, head west on Iron Springs Rd. After you pass the turnoff on the left for the town of Iron Springs, it is another 7.6 miles to FR 102 (Tonto Rd.), turn right (north) here and look for parking.
Overall, Tonto Wash ORV Trail is the 12th most popular dirt bike trail of all 46 dirt biking rides in Arizona. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Tonto Wash ORV Trail including Alto Pit Riding Area, Crown King Riding Area, Mingus Mountain ORV Loop, Sheridan Mountain / Smith Mesa, Old Military Trail, Hayfield Draw - Bryant Park ORV Area and Seven Mile Gulch Trail.
