Southeast of Mena and west of Hot Springs in the Ouachita National Forest, the Wolf Pen Gap ATV area has 41 miles of loop dirt bike trails. Featuring high mountain vistas, the trail leads the rider through an array of areas, including scenic Gap Creek and Board Camp Creek. The dirt bike trail continues through a forest of large pines and hardwoods before passing the unique 2-foot tall oak tree and an abandoned mine shaft. The trail loops are connected to accommodate riders who want to vary the length of their trips.
To reach the dirt biking trailhead for Wolf Pen Gap from Mena, head east on SR 8 for 1 mile to SR375, then south 8 miles to the trailhead near County Road 277. Additional trailheads are farther south on SR375 and south on Forest Road 38.
Overall, Wolf Pen ORV Gap is the 3rd most popular dirt bike trail of all 14 dirt biking rides in Arkansas.
