Mammoth Bar OHV Area For Dirt Biking

Northeast of Sacramento and Auburn in the Auburn State Recreation Area, the Mammoth Bar OHV Area has 50 miles of off-road motorcycle trails over 1,200 acres. It is located in the Sierra Nevada foothills about thirty miles northeast of Sacramento. This motorcycle/off-road motorcycle trails riding area has been used by off road enthusiasts for nearly 25-years and offers a wide range of trails and conditions in a beautiful setting next to the Middle Fort of the American River. It is limited to ATVs less than 40 inches wide.
To reach the trailhead from Auburn, head northeast on US80 to Exit 120 (Foresthill Road). Head east on Foresthill road for 3.3 miles to Old Foresthill Road. Turn right heading south on Old Foresthill Road for 1.6 miles. The parking area entrance road is on the left.
Note: the Mammoth Bar OHV Area is open Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday from Oct 1 to Mar 31, and on Sunday, Monday, Thursday from Apr 1 to Sept 30. Also, it may be temporarily closed during wet weather and until 24 hours after last rain.
