Southeast of Sacramento and northeast of Sonora, the Hull and Trout Creek area is a popular area for four-wheel drive users to operate with 20 miles of signed trails and 100 miles of roads open to OHV use. Unlike the Crandall and Deer Creek area, few single-track motorcycle trails currently exist. The riding area ranges in elevation of 4500 feet near Long Barn to 7600 feet at Bourland Mountain. The riding area is closed during the winter due to snow blocking access. Hull Creek campground is nearby with 19 units, restrooms, and drinking water. Adjacent areas offer no-service, dispersed camping opportunities.
To reach the trailhead from south of Stockton on US5, head east on SR120 to Sonora. In Sonora, head northeast on SR108 for 17 miles. Near Long Barn, turn right on Long Barn Drive and then right on North Fork Road for almost 3 miles to the trailhead.
Overall, Hull Creek / Trout Creek OHV is the 53rd most popular dirt bike trail of all 117 dirt biking rides in California. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Hull Creek / Trout Creek OHV including Mammoth Bar OHV Area, Carnegie State Recreation Area, White Pines OHV, Mi-Wok OHV, Deer Creek OHV Staging Area and Stonyford ORV Area.
