Fourmile Riding Area For Dirt Biking
The 17th most popular offroad motorcycle trail in Colorado.

East of Buena Vista, the Fourmile recreation area has a great ATV route that is open to dirt biking with stunning views of the Sawatch Range and the Collegiate Peaks.
To reach the dirt biking trailhead for Fourmile from Buena Vista, head south on US24 for 2 miles into Johnson Village. Turn left heading east on US24/285 for 6 miles. Turn left heading north on FS315 up Shields Gulch for 3 miles to the intersection with FS376a. Veer right and there is primative, unsigned parking and camping available.
From the trailhead, the best route heads northwest along FS276.
Note: Colorado residents must register their off-highway vehicle with the Colorado State Parks (303) 866-3437. Non-residents are not required to register in Colorado, if they are registered in their home states. All off-highway vehicles must have an approved muffler and spark arrester. These requirements are subject to change so make sure to contact the Colorado State Parks prior to using your off-highway vehicle.
Overall, Fourmile Riding Area is the 17th most popular dirt bike trail of all 90 dirt biking rides in Colorado. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Fourmile Riding Area including Texas Creek ORV Area, Otto Mears Toll Road and Rainbow Trail.
