Northwest of Durango and northeast of Delores, the Bear Creek Trail (#607) is a 8 mile route shared by hikers, mountain bikers, off-road motorcycle and horseback riders. The trail parallels Bear Creek. The route starts at 8,000 feet and climbs to 11,200 feet.

To reach the trailhead from Delores, head east on SR145 for 22 miles. The trail traverses the entire length of Bear Creek, all the way to the headwaters, where it intersects the Sharkstooth Trail.
