Houston Valley ORV Area For Dirt Biking

Northwest of Atlanta and northeast of Lafayette in the Chattahoochee National Forest, the 2,600 acre Houston Valley ORV area contains a 25-mile network of dirt biking trails. These trails traverse ridges, valleys and stream crossings, along with several steep, rocky ascents. They have been designed to provide a challenging, safe ride while protecting the environment. Please stay on designated trails. Since this is an off road vehicle area, unlicensed drivers can ride on the designated trails if accompanied by a licensed adult (unlicensed drivers must stay off public roads or open Forest Service roads).
To reach the dirt biking trailhead for Houston Valley from the north on US75, use Exit 348. Head south on SR151 for 7.4 miles. Turn left heading east on Nickajack Road Taylors Ridge for 1.8 miles. Turn right heading south on Capehart Road for 0.9 miles to the trailhead parking area.
To reach the trailhead from the south on SR75, use Exit 336. Head west on US41 for 2.9 miles. Turn left heading south on Fields Road for 0.6 miles. Turn right heading west on Houston Valley Road for 5 miles. Turn left heading south on Capehart Road for 0.9 miles to the trailhead parking area.
Note: There is a user fee per trail vehicle. You must pay the fee at the onsite self pay station and then carry the receipt with you while you ride. If you are caught without a receipt, there are very stiff fines.
Overall, Houston Valley ORV Area is the 5th most popular dirt bike trail of all 29 dirt biking rides in Georgia.
