Big Eightmile Trail For Dirt Biking

Southeast of Salmon and west of Leadore in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the Big Eightmile Trail #6183 is a 6 mile route ranging from 7,700 feet to 10,200 along Big Eightmile Creek into scenic alpine meadows. There are sweeping vistas from the summit.

To reach the dirt biking trailhead from Leadore, head west on Lee Creek Road for 6.5 miles. Turn southwest on FS096 for 6.5 miles to Big Eightmile Campground.

Overall, Big Eightmile Trail is the 19th most popular dirt bike trail of all 52 dirt biking rides in Idaho. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Big Eightmile Trail including Bear Valley Lakes Trail, Upper Harden Creek / Coal Creek Trail, Winnemucca Creek ORV Trail, East Fork Hayden Creek Trail, Hayden Creek Trail and Nez Perce National Historic Trail.
