South of Salmon and northwest of Leadore in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the Hayden Creek Trail (#6180) is a 10 mile route ranging from 6,460 feet to 7,940. The trail runs from the Kadletz Creek trailhead to the Tobias Creek trailhead.

To reach the dirt biking trailhead from SR28 just north of Lemhi, head southwest on Hayden Creek Road for about 11 miles to the Tobias Creek trailhead.

Overall, Hayden Creek Trail is the 16th most popular dirt bike trail of all 53 dirt biking rides in Idaho. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Hayden Creek Trail including Bear Valley Lakes Trail, Upper Harden Creek / Coal Creek Trail, Winnemucca Creek ORV Trail, Big Eightmile Trail, East Fork Hayden Creek Trail and Nez Perce National Historic Trail.
