East of Topeka and north of Lawrence, the Perry Lake area has 10 miles of trails open to off-road motorcycle trails riding through deep forest. These trails are often muddy with lots of ruts. The Perry Lake Motorcycle Trail encompasses over 140 acres of easy to difficult terrain. It is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. These trails are maintained by the Kansas ATV Association.
Note: the ATV trails are NOT in Perry Lake State Park.
To reach the trailhead from Topeka, head north on US70, head north on US75 for a mile or so to US24. Head east on US24 for about 15 miles to milepost 381. Turn left heading north on Thompsonville Road for 1.1 miles. Veer right on Spillway Road heading east for 1.7 miles. Turn right heading south into parking area.
