Southeast of Hattiesburg and south of New Augusta in the DeSoto National Forest, the Rattlesnake Bay ATV Trail is a 31 mile loop through a very sandy forest that is open to dirt biking. The best time to ride is during the fall and winter after a light rain shower. The trail is 4 feet wide. Believe it or not, the entire 31 mile loop tightly snakes through a 3 square mile area.
