Northeast of Helena in the Big Belt area, the Canyon Ferry Lake area has 160 miles of rolling trails through Ponderosa Pine.

To reach the dirt biking at the riding area from Helena take Hwy 287/Hwy 12 south to Townsend. In Townsend, continue on Hwy 12 East to Hwy 284. Go north on 284 to Canyon Ferry.

Overall, Big Belt Mountains is the 5th most popular dirt bike trail of all 30 dirt biking rides in Montana.
