Northwest of Oklahoma City and south of Waynoka, the 1500 acre Little Sahara State Park has amazing sand dunes for off-road motorcycle trails riding. This is the largest dune riding area in the state. To the west and northwest are the largest dunes, offering fantastic views, especially of sunsets with the Glass Mountains in the distance. In the middle there are cottonwood trees, yucca plants and stands of tall grass that form trails.
To reach the state park from Waynoka, head south on US281 for 4 miles.
Little Sahara safety rules require all vehicles have a whip that extends 10 feet from the ground with an orange or red flag that is a minimum 6x10 inches.
Overall, Little Sahara State Park is the 9th most popular dirt bike trail of all 15 dirt biking rides in Oklahoma. Several of the better dirt bike trails are nearby Little Sahara State Park including Stillwater Cycle Park, Crosstimbers Riding Area, Area 51 Motocross Park and Cross Bar Ranch.
