Winchester Trail System For Dirt Biking

The 12th most popular offroad motorcycle trail in Oregon.

Southwest of Salem and south of Coos Bay, the Winchester Trail System is a 30 mile network of trails and roads open to dirt biking. This area is very popular with horseback riders, so keep an eye out for them. The trails are maintained by the South Coast Trail Riders, along wiht the help of the Shutter Creek inmate work crews.

The trail system is located 13 mi. south of Coos Bay on Hwy. 101. At milepost 251, park on the right side (on the gravel) just prior to an uphill with a passing lane.

Note: This area is subject to Regulated Use Closures during fire season, such that motorized use is prohibited. Make sure to call in advance. The gravel roads are not to be used as recreational trails.

Overall, Winchester Trail System is the 12th most popular dirt bike trail of all 48 dirt biking rides in Oregon.
