Covey Cutoff Trail For Dirt Biking

Southeast of Alpine in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the Covey Cutoff Trail (#81) is a 7 mile dirt biking route with 4,800 feet of vertical gain. The route offers views of the scenic Salt River Range and wildlife. This trail was one of the original routes between the Star Valley and the Greys River for trappers, hunters and sheepherders.

Directions from Alpine: Travel southeast on Greys River Road #10138 to the Meadows Guard Station Road #10140. Go west on Meadows Guard Station Road to the guard station. The trail leads west up Meadow Creek. Both ends of the trail are signed.

The trail begins at the Meadows Guard Station. The trail ends at the junction with Strawberry Creek Trail #084 about 3 miles east of Strawberry Reservoir.
